Evaluation technology based on tower point cloud data for lightning protection performance of digital transmission lines
An evaluation technology based on tower point cloud data for lightning protection performance of digital transmission lines was proposed to address the impact of meteorological conditions, line length and other factors on lightning protection performance, all of which lead to a decrease in the accuracy of lightning protection performance evaluation.Airborne 3D laser scanning technology was used to obtain tower point cloud data, implement the denoising and simplification processes, extract the parameters of tower features, terrain and geomorphic features, and form a lightning risk evaluation index system in combination with other features. The lightning trip-out probability value was calculated and the risk of lightning trip-out was clarified. The lightning protection degree value of the transmission lines was calculated and the corresponding lightning protection level was determined. The experimental results indicate that the lightning protection performance evaluation results of the proposed method are consistent with the preliminary judgment of lightning protection performance based on historical data. This technology can significantly improve the accuracy of lightning protection performance evaluation for the transmission lines.
