Due to the unique structure of small pipes in petrochemical plants and the harsh service environment,there were many problems in the process of design and manufacturing,welding and installation,inspection and testing,as well as operation man-agement;compared with the equipment and pipeline body,small pipes were more prone to corrosion damage,forming safety haz-ards;so small pipes became a key and difficult point in corrosion and safety management of petrochemical devices.The structural characteristics and service environment of small pipes in petrochemical unit were analyzed;meanwhile,the sources of hidden dangers were described from the aspects of design,manufacture,installation and operation.Corresponding management sugges-tions and testing measures were proposed based on specific sources,so as to reduce accident hazards and ensure the safe opera-tion of the plant.
