Corrosion investigation is a critical means to understand the degree of corrosion in petrochemical plant;moreover,it is an important basis to evaluate the corrosion status in the previous cycle,quickly propose improvement methods,and thus achieve good corrosion prevention results in the next cycle.Through the use of visual inspection,pulse eddy current testing,and ultrasonic thickness measurement,a shutdown corrosion exploration was conducted on the atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit.The main corrosion problems were found in the atmospheric tower,vacuum tower,atmospheric overhead reflux tank,and the shell side outlet pipeline of the atmospheric overhead heat exchanger.Then,the causes and mechanisms of corrosion were analyzed,and mainte-nance measures and suggestions for corrosion monitoring and testing in the next operating cycle were put forward to ensure the safe and stable operation of the device,as well as to provide reference and technical support for the next corrosion investigation work.
