The relevant research results on the influence of plant roots on pipeline anti-corrosive coating were summarized,the impact of plant roots on underground pipeline coating was analyzed.The structural characteristics of pipeline anti-corrosive coat-ing were tested,its damage mechanism was studied,suggestions were proposed for plant types above pipelines based on environ-mental factors and anti-corrosive coating types.In order to reduce the damage of plant roots on pipeline anti-corrosive coating,ex-perimental results and research progress achieved at current stage were concluded.In response to the shortcomings and problems in current research,suggestions have been put forward such as selecting pipeline anti-corrosive coatings that are less affected by plant roots and defining plant species that are limited to planting around pipeline.
