Experimental study on heat treatment strengthening and modification of 09Cr2AlMoRE steel fastener bolts
Composition trimming and heat treatment strengthening and modification trial were conducted on 09Cr2AlMoRE,a low alloy rare-earth steel specially designed for wet resisting hydrogen sulfide corrosion. The results revealed that the strength and hardness of 09Cr2AlMoRE achieved expected effects after the trials.By limiting the level of non-metallic inclusions in steel, the overall performance of the material was improved.Stress corrosion cracks were not found on bolts manufactured by applying two modified processes in 430 MPa constant load test, proving that the processes can meet requirements of the material in wet hydro-gen sulfide corrosion environment.
