Ethylene oxide and ethylene glycol are two important downstream chemicals of ethylene.In recent years,ethylene oxide industry capacity is in a fast expansion process,but the growth rate of production capacity is higher than the growth rate of demand,the contradiction between supply and demand is intensified,the profitability is weakened,and the market price has been fluctuating at a relatively low level.The ethylene glycol industry is also experiencing rapid growing of production capacity promoted by integration of refining and chemical industry and coal chemical industry,which has caused expansion of market competition pressure,continuous shrinkage of imports,long stop of some old plants,and wide fluctuation of market price.The supply and demand situation,market price and development prospect of ethylene oxide and ethylene glycol were analyzed.
