Study on Interfacial Properties of Carbon Fiber/Vinyl Ester Resin Composites
Modified sizing agent was used to sizing SCF-35S-48K carbon fiber. The sizing process, surface morphology and interfacial properties of carbon fiber/vinyl ester resin composites were analyzed. The results of microstructure and interlayer shear properties of the composites show that:(ⅰ)the sizing layer can protect the carbon fiber to a certain extent;(ⅱ)the carbon fiber has flat surface, and good machinability,(ⅲ)the interface adhesion between the carbon fiber and the resin matrix is good, and(ⅳ)the interlayer shear strength of the composite is 68.18 MPa,which is 7.56%higher than that of the unsizing carbon fiber/vinyl ester resin composite, and meets the application requirements of the composite material.
