The supply and demand status and development prospect of styrene butadiene rubber(SBR)in China were analyzed.In 2023,China's production capacity of SBR achieved 1.887 Mt/a,and the apparent consumption achieved 1.554 Mt.It is expected that the production capacity and apparent consumption will reach 2.20 Mt/a and 1.70 Mt respectively.China's SBR overcapacity,market competitiveness will be more intense.In the future,China's SBR enterprises should be careful to build or expand new production capacity.Instead,they should constantly improve existing production technologies,speed up research and development on new products and new technologies,constantly improve product quality,reduce production costs,and actively explore foreign markets while meeting domestic demand.
