Analysis and Treatment of High Temperature of Thrust Bearing in Reaction Gas Compressor
The reaction gas compressor of a methanol to olefin unit in a certain company is a centrifugal compressor supplied by Hitachi as a whole,with a four-stage and two-cylinder arrangement.The turbine is a back pressure steam turbine supplied by Hangzhou Automobile Company.The unit was handed over for maintenance in mid to early March 2022.After the unit was restarted for operation,the temperature of the high-pressure cylinder thrust bearing continued to rise,reaching a maximum of 105.9℃,which affected the safe and stable operation of the unit for a long period of time.An analysis and investigation were conducted on the causes of abnormal temperature increase in the thrust bearing of the high-pressure cylinder of the unit,and various treatment measures were formulated to solve the problem of lubricating paint film.The temperature of the bearing shells was restored to normal values,ensuring the safe and stable operation of the unit,avoiding unplanned shutdowns and significantly reducing losses.To avoid similar problems from happening again,corresponding preventive measures have been formulated.
