Influence of Corrugation Size on Resistance Performance of Plate Air Preheater
The double-dimpled plate is a common type of heat transfer plate for plate air preheaters.Through a numerical simulation method,a standard periodic cylindrical cross-flow model with similar characteristics to the double-dimpled plate was used to study the effect of the l/d ratio of the cylinder spacing l to the diameter d of the cylindrical flow channel on the resistance performance of the model. The study found that as the l/d ratio gradually increased, its effect on the resistance performance gradually weakened. In particular, when l/d≥5.2,the sensitivity of the pressure loss to the l/d value decreased significantly.Based on this conclusion,a double-dimpled plate with the plate spacing of 3 mm and the corrugation spacing of 75 mm was designed and optimized to meet the performance requirements.
