Reflection on Quantitative Analysis for Promoting Fire and Gas Detection System
Fire and gas detection system is usually designed according to strict prescriptive criteria. However, when faced with hazardous events such as fires and gas leakage,it is still necessary to carry out quantitative analysis in order to fully understand and manage potential risks. The flame detector performance evaluation is introduced from the aspects of detector performance, attributes, placement and obstacle influences, etc. The advantages and limitations of the space coverage method are analyzed. The reliability of the analysis results is ensured by shifting from space coverage analysis to scenario-based coverage analysis,as well as by extending the coverage analysis to the gas detection. The challenges of quantitative analysis when faced with hazardous events such as fire and gas leaks is discussed,a new basic analytical framework is proposed to help chemical enterprises better understand and manage the risks of fire and gas detection system.
