Implementation Methods and Applicability Analysis for the Partial Stroke Test Function of the Emergency Shutdown Valve
With the continuous enhancement of petrochemical industry safety awareness, the requirements of the interlocking evaluation of some major risk sources is continuously improved. In the SIL verification stage of the project, there are cases where the verification results do not meet the SIL classification requirements. In order to avoid adding high cost scheme of extra independent protective layers to reduce the SIL evaluation level, the emergency shutdown valve partial stroke test is put forward as one efficient means to shorten the detection period and improve the detection coverage. The origin and specific requirements of the partial stroke test function of the emergency shutdown valve are introduced.different implementation methods and some products are described,a detailed analysis is introduced.A comprehensive comparison in terms of economy, availability and security are also made. The test plan of airway design with moderate cost and most wide applicability is recommended.
