Research on Digital Inclusive Finance and Consumer Upgrading
Faced with downward economic pressure, the fundamental role of consumption is becoming increasingly prominent.Digital inclusive finance, with its inclusiveness and accessibility, has developed rapidly in recent years, creating conditions for driving consumption upgrading. From a micro perspective, analyzing the relationship between digital inclusive finance and consumption upgrading,we find that digital inclusive finance drives consumption upgrading through financing mechanisms, wealth mechanisms, convenience mechanisms, and flow mechanisms. From the perspective of regional and subject heterogeneity, digital inclusive finance has a strong driving effect on consumption upgrading for urban households, western households, youth headed households, highly educated households,low-income households, and households with moderate consumption levels. The direct and intermediary effects of digital trade on the upgrading of consumption driven by digital inclusive finance have a U-shaped regulatory effect of first decreasing and then increasing. To further leverage the consumption upgrading effect of digital inclusive finance and the regulatory effect of digital trade, suggestions are proposed to accelerate the development of digital inclusive finance and promote the comprehensive and high-quality development of digital trade.
