Work Resources Cannot Meet My Work Demands:Depletion of Work/Family Balance Due to Non-working Time Connectivity
Drawing upon Job Demands/Resource Model and Work Demand/Induced Stress Compensation Model(DISC),this paper analyzes the relationships between work autonomy and work/family balance and job satisfaction. The hypotheses were tested with data from the China General Social Survey 2021(CGSS2021).The results showed that work demand of non-working time connectivity was significantly negatively correlated with work/family balance, which in turn affected employees'job satisfaction.Work autonomy does not alleviate the work/family imbalance. The negative impact of non-working time connectivity on work/family balance was more significant due to the high autonomy of the way of work.Implications and future research directions are discussed.
