Regional Differences and Formation Mechanisms of the Integration of Digital Economy and Real Economy in China
Exploring the sources and causes of regional differences in the integration of digital economy and real economy is of great significance for promoting the Chinese path to modernization. This study constructs a comprehensive evaluation system for digital economy and real economy, adopts the coupling harmonious degree model to calculate China's provincial integration level of digital economy and real economy from 2000 to 2022,reveals the sources and formation mechanisms of regional differences by virtue of Daugm Gini coefficient and QAP analysis. We find that the overall integration level of digital economy and real economy is relatively low but showing an upward trend. There are four types of provincial integration, which are"dual high","high-low","low-high"and"dual low".The overall regional differences have decreased. The main sources of differences in the three regions, the north and south, and the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Yellow River Basin are interregional differences, intraregional differences and intensity of transvariation, respectively. The spatial imbalance in market environments across regions is the key factor leading to regional differences. The above conclusions provide empirical evidence and policy inspirations for exploring differentiated development strategies and constructing a deeply integrated development pattern of collaborative improvement.
