Indicator Development and Quantitative Analysis for the Effectiveness Evaluation of the Construction of the Unified National Market
The unified national market is a crucial component in building a high-standard socialist market economy system.Based on the theoretical connotation of the unified national market,an evaluation index system with Chinese characteristics and wide comparability has been constructed.Utilizing provincial panel data from 2006 to 2021,we conduct a quantitative analysis of the construction effectiveness, evolutionary patterns, and spatial layout of the unified national market. The research finds that, from a temporal perspective, the construction level of the unified national market exhibits a consistent upward trend, with distinct stages and gradual characteristics. From the perspective of evaluation, the degree of market unification has steadily improved, market scale advantages have been fully leveraged, market operational efficiency has continuously optimized, the level of market openness has significantly increased, and the relationship between the government and the market has notably improved. From the perspective of provincial overview, the unified national market index displays a stepwise decreasing pattern from east to west, with regional market development imbalances and contradictions alleviated over time. From the perspective of spatial effects, spatial agglomeration analysis reveals significant spatial autocorrelation in the construction of the unified national market, with high-high and low-low clustering patterns.Spatial convergence tests indicate significant spatial absolute β convergence and spatial conditional β convergence at both national and regional levels, with varying determinants of convergence positions across different regions.
