Research on Running Window of Deepwater Subsea X’ mas Tree
Environmental loads for running and installing deepwater subsea X’ mas tree are very complex, so it is critical to ensure the running safety? For this reason, running process of the deepwater subsea X’ mas tree is ana?lyzed to build a mechanical model for pipe string running, determine running principle of the X’ mas tree and estab?lish X’ mas tree running window analysis method and process? In addition, a research is conducted on influences of X ’ mas tree quality, wave period, wave direction angle and water depth on the X ’ mas tree running win?dow?Research results show that, under the conditions of surface velocity below 0?85 m/s and wave height below 7?2 m, the X’ mas tree can be run safely? Moreover, increase of X’ mas tree mass results in narrower running window, which mainly affects maximum effective wave height of the window? The running window is larger when the wave peri?od is 9~11 s and 15~29 s, and recommended angle between platform heading and wave is 45° for different wave di?rection angles? With increase of water depth, the X’ mas tree running window becomes smaller? The water depth af?fects greatly the maximum effective wave height of the window, but slightly on the maximum surface velocity.
