Ultra-high Expansion Layer Selection and Water Plugging Tool and Technology without Tripping Tubing String
In the process of offshore oil and gas development,due to the special nature of the pipe string,it is necessary to use ø73.0 mm tubing to implement layer selection and water plugging inside the ø244.5 mm casing,and the water plugging tool needs to have an expansion ratio of 424%and a pressure resistance of 15 MPa,while the existing expandable bridge plugs and packer tools can only achieve a maximum expansion ratio of 350%and seal the bottom layer.With the help of the advantage of small diameter coiled tubing to pass through conventional tubing,based on the principle of umbrella shaped expansion,a through tubing dual-umbrella single packer ultra-high expansion layer selection and water plugging tool without tripping tubing string was developed.Then,based on the characteristics of the tool,the plugging agent and operation process were optimized.The test results show that the layer selection and water plugging tool can effectively pass through the ø73.0 mm tubing with a minimum inner diameter of 55.6 mm to realize layer selection and setting in the ø244.5 mm casing with an inner diameter of 217.3 mm.After setting,the inner diameter of the flow passage is 25.4 mm,achieving layer selection and water plugging in one trip without tripping tubing string,so the tool has obvious advantages such as large expansion ratio,without tripping tubing string,without using initiating explosive devices,short operation cycle and low cost.The research provides a new technical means for the development of drowned wells.
