Influence of Tubing Size and Gas Injection Method on Intermittent Gas lift
Intermittent gas lift can effectively improve the recovery efficiency of low-permeability,low-pres-sure and low-yield oil wells. In order to improve the lifting performance of intermittent gas lift, taking the VOF model as the theoretical basis, the Fluent software was used to conduct numerical simulation to investigate the influ-ences of tubing size and injection frequency, amplitude and method at intermittent gas injection on the gas lift per-formance with gravity considered. The results show that as the tubing size increases, the mass of fluid lifted at the outlet of the tubing increases, and the gas lift performance is enhanced. As the frequency of intermittent gas injec-tion increases, the mass of fluid lifted at the outlet of the tubing decreases, and the gas lift effect weakens. As the amplitude of intermittent gas injection increases, the mass of fluid lifted at the outlet of the tubing increases, and the gas lift effect is enhanced.Reducing the frequency of intermittent gas injection and increasing the amplitude of gas injection are favorable for improving gas lift performance.Intermittent gas injection with large amplitude and high frequency is more favorable for improving the gas lift performance. The main influence degree and factors of intermittent gas lift can be expressed as:intermittent gas injection amplitude>intermittent gas injection method>intermittent gas injection frequency. The study results provide guidance for parameter optimization of intermittent gas lift method and efficient development of oilfields.
