Breeding of a New Ganoderma leucocontextum Cultivar'Yunling No.3'
Wild fruiting bodies of Ganoderma leucocontextum were collected in Guishan Town,Shilin County,Kunming City,Yunnan Province, and then different strains were obtained through tissue isolation and purification. These strains were compared with the control strain L4439 for mycelial growth(preliminary screening),fruiting body development(secondary screening),and then the selected strain was further studied for antagonistic reaction with L4439,analyzed for phylogeny, and cultivated at pilot and demonstration scales at different cultivation sites. The results showed that a strain named L4968 was selected for its fast mycelial growth rate and superior fruiting body development.Fruiting bodies of L4968 were reddish brown with a high gloss paint like appearance, and they also had obvious concentric ring patterns and radial longitudinal ridges. The pileus length, pileus width, pileus thickness, stipe length, stipe diameter, fresh weight per bag, biological efficiency and cultivation cycle of L4968 were(15.08±0.12)cm,(12.23±0.09)cm,(0.81±0.02)cm,(7.25±0.10)cm,(2.75±0.07)cm,(84.98±1.41)g,(15.45±0.26)%,and(85±0.82)d,respectively.L4968 showed uniformed fruiting, stable cultivation traits, wide adaptability and high yields. It can be cultivated in facilities and under forests of Yunnan and the surrounding areas. In 2023,L4968 was recognized as a non-major crop variety of Yunnan Province, and was named'Yunling No.3'.
