Source and Grammaticalization of Degree Adverb"Cheng"in Northeast Chinese Dialect
Through the analysis of the source,distribution and grammaticalization of the degree adverb of"cheng"in the Northeast Chinese dialect,it was found that as a degree adverb,"cheng"has the characteristics of taking central Liaoning as the center and gradually spreading to eastern Liaoning,western Liaoning,Jilin and Heilongjiang in Northeast China,and its usage presents transitional and differential characteristics.It was believed that the usage of degree adverb was the result of further grammaticalization of"cheng"after it evolved from an adjective to an adverb of mood;"Cheng"gradually went through the grammaticalization stage of"descriptive tone→expression of tone and degree→limiting degree",represented by the Central Plains of China,and finally the use of degree adverbs appeared.
