Impact of Digital Economy on Upgrading of Manufacturing Industry in Yangtze River Delta Region
Based on the panel data of 41 cities in the Yangtze River Delta from 2011-2021,the impact of digital economy on the upgrading of manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Delta and its mechanism were empirically analyzed by constructing a double fixed effect model.The empirical results indicated that the digital economy has a significant promoting effect on the upgrading of manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Delta region.Further analysis showed that the digital economy has heterogeneity in terms of province and economic development level for the upgrading of manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Delta region.At the same time,the digital economy could promote the upgrading of manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Delta region by accumulating human capital and promoting technological innovation.Based on the above conclusion,suggestions such as promoting innovation-driven and policy-leading simultaneously,establishing a diversified talent cultivation system,and adopting differentiated strategies to promote the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry were put forward.
