Combined with the requirements of the current all-round development of morality,intellectual,physical,aesthetic and labor in higher education and the inherent needs of cultivating new people in the times,the connotation of the spirit of model workers in the new era was analyzed and explained from the three levels of goal pursuit,quality embodiment and value orientation;and the significance of the cultivation of the spirit of model workers in college students was discussed.From the four dimensions of college students'theoretical identity,integration into the whole process of ideological and political courses,building a campus cultural atmosphere,and improving the guarantee mechanism,an effective path for the cultivation of the spirit of college students'model workers in the new era was proposed.
