Testing and Application of Rolling Negative Pressure Screen in Domestic Oil and Gas Drilling
Traditional shale shakers rely on vibration to generate a throwing force of 5-6g under normal pressure to separate cuttings from drilling fluid, resulting in a high liquid content of cuttings and a large amount of solid waste.Rolling negative pressure screen is a drilling fluid solid-liquid separation device based on the principle of belt vacuum filtration and micro-vibration composite action. The screening of drilling fluid is mainly based on vacuum action, resulting in low content of drilling cuttings, high recovery rate of drilling fluid and low generation of solid waste.Since 2014,some rolling negative pressure screens have been introduced in China and have been tested and applied on a small scale to reduce solid waste in offshore drilling and drilling cuttings in onshore drilling. However, there are relatively few reports on relevant tests and applications. In this article, application and comparative experiments were conducted on the rolling vacuum screen in domestic land drilling. The experimental results showed that the volume liquid content of the cuttings discharged by the rolling negative pressure screen can be reduced to less than 35%.When oil-based mud is used, the consumption of mud per meter and the actual production of solid waste can be reduced by 32.25%and 51.63%,respectively,compared with the conventional vibrating screen. The sand content and harmful solid phase of the separated drilling mud are reduced, and the performance of the drilling mud is improved. The application of rolling negative pressure screen has good economic and environmental benefits, but the investment cost of disposable equipment is relatively high, which may affect its large-scale promotion and application.
