Design and Application of the Aechanical&Hydraulic Disconnector with Full Bore
A new type of mechanical and hydraulic disconnector with full bore has been developed to address the shortcomings of conventional disconnectors, including insufficient capacity, reliability, and bore during acid fracturing completion in wells with long open holes in ultra-deep carbonate reservoirs. This disconnector incorporates the advantages of both mechanical and hydraulic disconnectors, employing a pawl structure to guarantee the high bearing demand during the pipe string tripping process in deep wells.A sliding sleeve hydraulic relying on pressure is employed as the pawl release mechanism to achieve full bore.Subsequent to the release of the pawl,a mechanical shear pin is utilized to facilitate the efficient release of the pipe string. The newly developed release tool ensures the safe entry and smooth release of the completion string in deep and long open holes, while also avoiding the problem of throttling in shrinkage pipe. This effectively reduces the frictional resistance, thereby providing more selectivity for later workover operations. The reliability and practicality of the newly developed tool have been effectively verified through finite element analysis, indoor testing, and on-site application evaluation. The tool has been applied a total of 46 times, with a 100%success rate. The deepest application was at a depth of 7 178.94 m,with a maximum deviation angle of 92.20°.It has considerable potential for application and offers significant economic benefits.
