Development and Application of Romote Control Ball Injector for Temporary Blockage Steering and Fracturing
The temporary plugging and turning process represents an effective methodology for the opening of multiple clusters of perforations. The ball injector constitutes a pivotal piece of equipment for the implementation of the aforementioned process. The existing hydraulic rotary plug ball injector utilized in shale gas development is unable to accurately and quantitatively throw balls on multiple occasions, which is inadequate to meet the demands of on-site operations. In response to this challenge,a high-pressure remote control ball injector has been developed, which employs the spiral ball injector principle to achieve precise counting. The apparatus is equipped with a side-mounted power assembly and a split-type top cover assembly, facilitating disassembly and assembly. It is capable of withstanding a pressure capacity of 140 MPa,and is designed with multiple precise ball injectors and a large number of balls to be loaded. The operation is simple, and the remote control ball injector for temporary blocking and turning fracturing has been tested in a controlled setting and in a real-world context. It has demonstrated the capacity to achieve a pressure of 140 MPa,facilitate multiple precise ball injections, and accommodate a substantial number of balls.Following a series of on-site trials,it has been demonstrated that the new ball injector model exhibits a number of advantages, including reliable sealing, precision, straightforward operation, and a high degree of safety and reliability. The new device meets the requirements of domestic ultra-high pressure blockage ball layered fracturing conditions and can fully replace the existing hydraulic plug valve ball injector.
