Negative Pressure Drainage-assisted Irrigation in Wound Management of Intestinal Fistulas
Objective To investigate the effect of negative pressure drainage-assisted irrigation in wound management of intestinal fistulas. Methods The clinical data of 22 patients with intesti-nal fistulas admitted to the First Hospital of Nanchang from August 2012 to August 2023 who underwent negative pressure drainage-assisted irrigation for wound management were retrospec-tively analyzed. Results 22 patients were treated with negative pressure drainage-assisted irriga-tion:19 patients(86.4%)were ultimately cured;9 fistulas closed on their own;10 were cured by surgical treatment;there were 2 deaths,of which one was a high-flow fistula and the other was a spontaneous extra-intestinal fistula due to tumor recurrence. The counts of leukocytes and neutro-phils of the 22 patients were significantly lower than those before the treatment(P<0.01).Con-clusion Negative pressure drainage-assisted irrigation maybe effective in managing wound and promoting recovery from infection.
