The Expression and Clinical Significance of EGR-1 and MMP-2 in Patients with Early Spontaneous Abortion
Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of early growth re-sponse factor(EGR-1)and matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2)in the villi of patients with early spontaneous abortion. Methods RT-PCR and Westernblot were used to detect the expression of EGR-1 and MMP-2 in the chorionic villus tissues of 20 patients with early spontaneous abortion(abortion group)and 20 normal early pregnancy abortions(control group). Results The levels of EGR-1,MMP-2 mRNA and protein in the abortion group were significantly lower than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Abnor-mal expression of EGR-1 and MMP-2 in early pregnancy chorionic tissue may be involved in the development of early pregnancy failure.
