The PDCA Cycle Management Combined with Risk Factor Management in Nosocomial Infection Control in Department of Pediatrics
Objective To investigate the effect of plan-do-check-action(PDCA)cycle manage-ment combined with risk factor management in reducing nosocomial infection in Department of Pediatrics. Methods 851 children hospitalized in Department of Pediatrics from July 2020 to De-cember 2020 were established as the control group, and 916 hospitalized children from January 2021 to June 2021 were categorized as the PDCA group. The control group was managed with rou-tine health care, and the study group was treated with PDCA cycle management combined with risk factor management. The incidence of nosocomial infection, the rate of sterilization compli-ance,and the incidence of non-compliance events of medical staff were observed in the two groups. Results The incidence of nosocomial infection and the total incidence of non-compliance events of medical staff in the PDCA group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The pass rates of disinfection of object surfaces, healthcare workers'hands and air in the PDCA group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05 or P<0.001).Conclusion PDCA cycle management combined with risk factor management can effectively im-prove the pediatric sterilization compliance rate and reduce the incidence of non-compliance events of medical staff and the incidence of nosocomial infection in hospitalized children.
