Effect of Teach-Back Combined with Wechat Health Education on Quality of Life in Patients Undergoing Permanent Cystostomy
Objective To explore the effect of teach-back combined with Wechat health educa-tion on the quality of life in patients undergoing permanent cystostomy.Methods Using purpos-ive sampling,48 patients who underwent permanent cystostomy from January to June 2022 were assigned to receive one-on-one oral health education(control group),and 44 patients who under-went permanent cystostomy from July to December 2022 were assigned to receive one-on-one oral health education,teach-back and Wechat health education(intervention group).According to the"Permanent Vesicostomy Health Education Guidelines",the contents that patients needed to mas-ter were explained and demonstrated in detail.At 1 year after discharge from hospital,the self-care ability and quality of life of patients were evaluated using the Urostomy Self-Care Scale and the Short-Form 36-Item Health Questionnaire(SF-36),respectively.In addition,the incidence of com-plications was compared between the two groups.Results The scores of self-care ability and qual-ity of life in the intervention group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The in-cidence of complications in the intervention group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Teach-back combined with Wechat health education can improve the self-care ability and quality of life and reduce the incidence of complications in patients undergoing perma-nent cystostomy.
