The Effect of Five-flavored Antiseptic Drink on Stoma-related Complications in Patients with Urinary Stoma for Bladder Cancer
Objective To investigate the effects of the Five-flavored Antiseptic Drink on peris-tomal infection,stoma-related complications and healing in patients with bladder cancer.Methods 74 patients with bladder cancer who were to undergo urostomy in the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from January to July 2023 were selected for the study;patients admitted to Ward 1 were categorized as the control group,and patients in Ward 2 were categorized as the ob-servation group,37 cases in each group.In the control group,saline was used to flush the stoma;in the observation group,the Five-flavored Antiseptic Drink(formula:30 g of honeysuckle,15 g each of wild chrysanthemum,dandelion,purple flower Dididium,10 g of purple sunflower seed)was used for external rinsing plus internal intake,with 3-month interventions in both groups.The TIME-H scale was used to evaluate the peristomal skin healing,and the incidence of stoma infec-tion and complications were compared between the 2 groups.Results At 1 month of intervention,there was no statistically significant difference in stoma infection rate,complication rate and peris-tomal skin healing between the 2 groups(P＞0.05);at 3 month of intervention,stoma infection rate and complication rate of the observation group were lower than those of the control group,and peristomal skin healing was better than that of the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Compared with normal saline irrigation of urinary stoma,the rinsing therapy with the Five-flavor-ed Antiseptic Drink might reduce stoma-related complications,decrease the rate of peristomal skin infection,and promote peristomal skin healing.
