Effect of Hot Fomentation Packs of Wuzhuyu Combined with Acupuncture Point Patching on Abdominal Distension in Patients with COPD Non-invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation
Objective To investigate the effect of hot fomentation packs of Wuzhuyu combined with acupuncture point patching on abdominal distension in patients with chronic obstructive pul-monary disease(COPD)non-invasive positive pressure ventilation.Methods A total of 60 patients with COPD non-invasive ventilation abdominal distension admitted to the Department of Respira-tory and Critical Care Medicine of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University were randomly divided into the observation group(n=30)and the control group(n=30).The control group was given routine treatment and nursing care,while the observation group was further trea-ted with hot fomentation packs of Wuzhuyu combined with acupuncture point patching;both groups were treated continuously for 3 d.Intestinal sound,abdominal circumference and clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.Results After treat-ment,the observation group had more bowel sounds per minute than the control group;abdomi-nal circumference of the observation group was smaller than that of the control group(P＜0.05);the total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Hot fomentation packs of Wuzhuyu combined with acupuncture point patching might promote intestinal peristalsis and alleviate abdominal distension in patients with COPD non-invasive positive pressure ventilation.
