Effect of Evidence-Based Nursing Combined with Biofeedback Training on Functional Constipation and Quality of Life in Children
Objective To analyze the effect of evidence-based nursing combined with biofeed-back training on functional constipation in children. Methods Eighty children with functional con-stipation were given routine nursing intervention alone(control group,n=40)or in combination with evidence-based nursing and biofeedback training(observation group,n=40).Clinical efficacy, defecation status(feeling of incomplete evacuation, defecation difficulty, average defecation time, etc.),and gastrointestinal hormone levels(gastrin, motilin, substance P,etc.)were compared be-tween the two groups. The psychological status was assessed using Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS).The physical and mental health status was evalua-ted using the World Health Organization(WHO)-Five Well-being Index(WHO-5).Results The total effective rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(95.0%vs 80.0%,X2=4.114,P=0.043).The defecation status, psychological state, gastrointestinal hormone levels, and physical and mental health were significantly improved after intervention in both groups, and the improvement in the observation group was more obvious than that in the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion Evidence-based nursing combined with biofeedback training can ef-fectively improve defecation, gastrointestinal hormone levels and quality of life in children.
