The Formation of Biofilmin Candida Albicans and Its Antifungal Resistance:an Overview
The biofilm of Candida albicans is a unique form of growth relative to its suspended growth state and is a key factor in its virulence or pathogenicity.Biofilm forms of C.albicans ex-hibit high resistance to multiple antifungal drugs, posing a great challenge for clinical treatment. The study of C.albicans biofilms and their biological properties contributes to the prevention of infectious diseases and the development of new antifungal drugs. This article reviews the four key stages of Candida albicans biofilm formation(i.e.,adhesion,proliferation,maturation,and diffu-sion),and the mechanism of antifungal resistance in C.albicans.
