Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Kangfuxin liquid combined with sunitinib in preventing radioactive oral mucositis(ROM)in patients with nasopharyngeal carcino-ma(NPC).Methods 60 NPC patients admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from 2021 to 2022 were selected for the study and randomly divided into the experi-mental group and the control group,each with 30 cases.The control group was treated with daily gargling with compound mouthwash and oral administration of sunitinib tablets since the begin-ning of radiotherapy,whereas the experimental group was further treated with Kangfuxin liquid;the above treatments lasted until the end of radiotherapy in both groups.The occurrence of ROM,radiation oral tolerance,objective remission rate and the occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the 2 groups.Results At weeks 4,6,and 8,the incidence of ROM in the exper-imental group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05),and the incidence of grade 3 and 4 ROM in the experimental group was also lower than that in the control group during the whole radiotherapy period(P＜0.05).Comparisons of the mean dose of oral irradiation dose volume,V30,V40,V50,V55,the rate of objective remission,and the incidence of adverse re-actions showed no statistically significant differences between the 2 groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion The findings suggest that Kangfuxin liquid combined with sunitinib can reduce the incidence and severity of ROM in NPC patients.
