The Expression of Septin-9 and HIF-1α in Cervical Cancer and Their Clinical Significance
Objective To investigate the expression of Septin-9 and HIF-1α in cervical cancer tissues and their clinical significance. Methods Immunohistochemical staining was performed on 99 cervical cancer tissues,50 cervical intraepithelial neoplasia tissues and 20 normal cervical tis-sues;the expression levels of Septin-9 and HIF-1α were observed in the above tissues;the corre-lation between the expression levels of Septin-9 and HIF-1α and clinical pathological indexes of cervical cancer was analyzed. Results Univariate analysis suggested that cervical lesions were as-sociated with patients'age of onset,HPV infection and type, menopausal status, and number of pregnancies(P<0.05).Immunohistochemical results indicated that the expression levels of Sep-tin-9 and HIF-1α were significantly elevated in cervical cancer t issues(P<0.05).The expression intensity of Septin-9 and HIF-1α in cervical cancer tissues was correlated with clinical stage, lymph node metastasis, and muscle infiltration of the patients(P<0.05),and was not related to age, pathological grade, and pathological type(P>0.05).Correlation analysis revealed that there was a significant positive correlation between the expression of Septin-9 and HIF-1α in cervical cancer tissues(r=0.671,P<0.05).Conclusion Septin-9 and HIF-1α were observed to be highly expressed in cervical cancer, and their synergistic effects might promote cervical carcinogenesis and progression.
