Comprehensive Nursing Intervention Based on King's Theory of Goal Attainment in Lung Cancer Patients
Objective To explore clinical value of comprehensive nursing intervention based on King's theory of goal attainment in lung cancer patients. Methods 100 perioperative patients with lung cancer were selected and randomly divided into the King group(n=50)and the control group(n=50):the control group was managed with routine nursing intervention, and the King group was further given comprehensive nursing intervention based on King's theory of goal at-tainment;both groups lasted for 3 months.Pulmonary functions[maximum ventilation volume(MVV),vital capacity(VC),forced vital capacity(FVC)]and compliance behaviors(medication compliance, healthy diet, cooperative examination, appropriate activities)were observed;the scores of Engagement in Self-care Ability Scale(ESCA),General Self-efficacy Scale(GSES),the Chinese version of Self-transcendence Scale(CSTS),and living ability[Barthel index(BI)]in the 2 groups were compared before and after intervention. Results After intervention, the levels of MVV,VC,and FVC were higher in the King group than in the control group(P<0.05 or P<0.01);the scores of compliance behaviors,GSES,CSTS,ESCA,and BI were higher in the King group than in the control group(P<0.05 or P<0.01 or P<0.001).Conclusion Comprehensive nursing intervention based on King's theory of goal attainment can positively improve lung func-tions,compliance behaviors,self-management ability and living ability in perioperative patients with lung cancer.
