Health Education in COVID-19 Facilities for Centralized Quarantine and Medical Observation
Objective To analyze the effects of health education in COVID-19 facilities for centralized quarantine and medical observation,to improve the knowledge and compliance of people under quarantine and medical observation,and to explore the role of health education in the prevention of infectious diseases.Methods 200 people under quarantine in COVID-19 facilities for centralized quarantine and medical observation during March to May 2022 were selected as research subjects and divided into the routine group and the observation group,100 in each group;the general routine health education was carried out in the routine group whereas the personalized health education was provided in the observation group.Before and after the intervention,the survey was conducted using the questionnaire on the prevention of infectious diseases such as COVID-19 with standardize survey method,survey steps,survey content,and evaluation criteria.Results After the intervention,the scores of familiarity with the knowledge of prevention of infectious diseases,such as COVID-19,increased in the 2 groups,compared with that before the intervention(P<0.05);the improvement effect of the observation group was better than that of the conventional group(P<0.05).The scores of prevention and control satisfaction of the observation group were higher than those of the conventional group(P<0.05).Conclusion How familiar individuals under COVID-19 quarantine and medical observation are with the prevention of infectious diseases is related to the methods and approaches adopted in health education,and personalized health education can effectively improve the degree of familiarity with the prevention of infectious diseases.
