Latent Profile Analysis in Suicide or Self-injury:a Review
Latent profile analysis(LPA)plays an important role in identifying group heterogeneity and is characterized by its methodological features of being individual-centered,having no requirement for the type of variable, and being unrestricted by the number of categories. This paper reviews the application of LPA in the study of suicide or self-injury,and finds that the influencing factors of suicide or self-injury include individual factors(psychological state, mental illness),environmental factors(online environmental factors, sociocultural factors),and the joint influences of individual and environmental factors;suicide or self-injury is characteristic of suicidal ideation, suicide attempt,self-injurious frequency and behaviors.LPA can be an effective tool for classifying and providing personalized interventions for suicidal or self-injurious populations, but it is currently difficult to assess the risk of individuals.
