Efficacy and Safety of Pediatric Qingre Xuanfei Plaster in Adjuvant Treatment of Pediatric Acute Asthma
Objective To explore the clinical efficacy and safety of Pediatric Qingre Xuanfei plaster in adjuvant treatment of acute asthma attacks in children so as to provide reference for clinical practice. Methods A total of 79 children aged from 6 months to 6 years with acute mild to moderate asthma attacks, who were admitted to the department of respiratory medicine from January to July 2024,were selected and divided into an observation group(40 cases)and a control group(39 cases)using the random number table method. The control group received conventional treatment, whereas the observation group was further given Pediatric Qingre Xuanfei plaster for acupoint application. The clinical efficacy and adverse reactions were compared between the 2 groups after 5 consecutive days of medication. Results The total effective rate in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group(92.5%vs 74.4%,P<0.05).The duration of wheezing and lung wheezing in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05).In the observation group, there was 1 case of local rash and 1 case of skin itching, with an incidence of adverse reactions of 5.0%;in the control group, there was 1 case of rash, with an incidence of adverse reactions of 2.5%;there was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the 2 groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The acupoint application with Pediatric Qingre Xuanfei plaster can be clinically effective in adjuvant treatment of acute asthma attacks in children, with few adverse reactions and relatively high safety.
