The Effects of Different Budesonide Dosing Modalities on Postoperative Efficacy of Eosinophilic Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps
Objective To investigate the effects of different budesonide dosing modalities on postoperative efficacy among patients with eosinophilic chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps(ECRSwNP).Methods 80 patients with ECRSwNP admitted to Guangchang County People's Hospital from 2020 to 2023 were selected and divided into an observation group and a control group using a random number table method, with 40 patients in each group. The control group received nasal spray, whereas the observation group underwent nasal nebulization inhalation. The clinical efficacy, nasal symptoms, quality of life[assessed using the Sino-Nasal Outcome Test-20(SNOT-20)score],sinus CT scan scores, and nasal mucosal regression were compared between the 2 groups. Results After 3-month intervention, the total effective rate in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05):compared to the control group, the scores for facial pain, nasal obstruction, rhinorrhea, olfactory loss,SNOT-20,and sinus CT examination were significantly lower in the observation group(P<0.001);compared to the control group, the observation group had significantly shorter durations for each stage of nasal mucosal morphological regression,a significantly lower nasal endoscopy Lund-Kennedy score, and a significantly higher ciliary transport speed(all P<0.001).Conclusion Nasal nebulization inhalation of budesonide for ECRSwNP can positively alleviate clinical symptoms, promote nasal mucosal regression and improve the quality of life of patients, thereby achieving relatively desirable clinical efficacy.
