Evaluation of the Conventional and Tough-Tenacity Properties of SBS Modified Asphalt Binders
SBS has a special soft and hard chain segment structure, which can form a stable three-di-mensional network structure in the asphalt, making SBS modified asphalt with excellent performance. At pres-ent,the three traditional indicators cannot fully evaluate the performance of SBS modified asphalt. Therefore, this article studies the impact of SBSs impact on the performance of asphalt performance through viscosity,toughness-tenacity,and force ductility tests, and compares with the results of the three major indicators. The results showed that with the increase of SBS content, the three major indicators, dynamic viscosity, rotational viscosity and rutting parameter increased. The most obvious improvement on the conventional performance and failure temperature of the base asphalt was observed when the SBS content was 6%.Compared with the base asphalt, the tensile length curve of SBS modified asphalt, the maximum tensile value increased, and the stress relaxation time is prolonged.6%SBS modified asphalt has the best ductility performance at low temperature, and 8%SBS modified asphalt has the highest toughness-tenacity performance.Correlation analyses showed that the logarithmic values of dynamic viscosity at 60℃,logarithmic values of rutting factor at 70 ℃,and vis-cosity-toughness indexes were strongly linearly correlated.
