Study on the Reduction of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Petroleum Asphalt
The polymer modification method was used to reduce the content of polycyclic aromatic hydro-carbons(PAHs)in the asphalt of ordinary No.90 road.According to the detoxification mechanism and the principle of similarity compatibility, polyols, polyoxymethylene or benzaldehyde polymers that are miscible with polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in asphalt and contain active groups are selected as modifiers, and organic acids or inorganic acids are used as catalysts, and different ratios and reaction conditions are designed for testing. The best test scheme was selected as follows:6%of the modifier polyols,2%of the catalyst inor-ganic acids,180 ℃,and 2 h of reaction time. The total PAHs content of 15 asphalt items decreased by 53.6%.
