Clinical application of residual nasal alar flap combined with adjacent nasal skin flap in nasal alar reconstruction
Objective To investigate the clinical effectiveness of residual nasal alar flap combined with adjacent nasal skin flap in nasal alar reconstruction after nasal alar defect. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 12 patients with nasal alar defects treated from January 2021 to December 2022.The patients underwent residual nasal alar flap combined with adjacent nasal skin flap for nasal alar reconstruction. The method involved designing a local pedicled skin flap in the residual nasal side, designing a skin flap that flips inward into the nasal cavity at the residual nasal wing as the inner lining, and transferring the nasal side skin flap as the outer covering tis-sue for the defect of the nasal wing. Results All patients were followed up for 6 to 12 months postoperatively, and effective repair and re-construction of the residual nasal alar defects were achieved. The reconstructed nasal alar had a natural appearance, unobstructed nasal breathing, and harmonious coordination with surrounding tissues and facial contours. No postoperative complications were observed. Conclusion Residual nasal alar flap combined with adjacent nasal skin flap is an effective and feasible technique for repairing residual nasal alar defects.
