Application of reverse-flow flaps in repairing the deep defects in distal foot
Objective To investigate the effect of reverse-flow flaps in repairing the deep defects in distal foot. Methods Ret-rospective analysis from Jan 2019 to Dec 2021,Department of Burn and Plastic Surgery,Nanjing Jinling Hospital admitting 12 patients with deep defects of distal foot were enrolled.According to the location of the wound and vascular conditions of the affected foot, appropriate reverse-flow flap was selected to repair the wound. The donor sites were repaired by skin graft.Retrograde dorsal pedis flap was used in 6 cases, retrograde medial plantar flap in 4 cases and retrograde medial pedis flap in 2 cases. Results The flaps all survived complete-ly.One case of retrograde dorsal pedis flap and one case of retrograde medial plantar flap had venous congestion after operation, which was relieved after acupuncture and bloodletting, baking with baking lamp, and did not affect the survival of the flaps.postoperative follow-up 10~24 months, the appearance and function of the patients'feet were satisfactory. Conclusion For the deep defects in distal foot, repair with a suitable retrograde flap can achieve good results.
