To investigate the role of Survivin(BIRC5)in the treatment of keloid using network pharmacological analysis methods
Objective To investigate the possibility of treating keloid by inhibiting Survivin(BIRC5)expression using the network pharmacological analysis method,and to look for specific therapeutic drugs.Methods From January 2021 to October 2023,Department of Plastic Surgery,Heze Municipal Hospital searched relevant databases such as PubMed,Oncomine,String,Uniprot,KEGG,Therapeutic Target Database(TTD)and Drugbank to investigate Survivin(BIRC5)as a potential target for keloid therapy.Results By searching the PubMed database found evidences for the treatment of keloids by inhibiting the expression of Survivin(BIRC5).By searching the Oncomine database,the String database and the KEGG database found indirect evidences for the treatment of keloid by inhibiting the expression of Survivin(BIRC5).By searching TTD database and Drugbank database found some drugs that have the potential to treat keloid,such as the anti-human Survivin(BIRC5)antisense oligonucleotide ISIS 23722 and LY2181308,Berberine and Reserpine.Conclusion Inhibi-tion of Survivin(BIRC5)expression in fibroblasts to promote apoptosis of fibroblasts may be an effective treatment for keloid.However,fur-ther researches are needed to confirm this conclusion.
