Effect of multimodal treatment on recurrent ear keloids
Objective To explore the morphological characteristics of recurrent ear keloids and the effect of one-stage multi-modal treatment. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on 36 patients(49 ears)with recurrent ear keloids admitted to the De-partment of Plastic Surgery, the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from August 2019 to August 2022.Different surgi-cal methods were selected according to the location, size and whether the surface skin was normal. After surgery, external silicone ointment and silicone ear clips were used for compression treatment, and 16 patients were treated with surgery + electron beam irradiation + external silicone + compression + isotope(Scheme A);18 patients were treated with surgery + electron beam irradiation + external silicone + com-pression(Scheme B);1 patient was treated with surgery + external silicone + compression + isotope(Scheme C),and 1 patient was treated with surgery + external silicone + compression(Scheme D).The patients were followed up once 1,3,6,and 12 months after surgery, and isotopic treatment was performed in time for those with recurrence tendency, and the therapeutic effect was observed. Results In Scheme A,7 cases were cured,9 cases were effective, and the effective rate was 100%;in Scheme B,8 cases were cured,9 cases were effective, and 1 case was ineffective, and the effective rate was 94.4%;in Scheme C and Scheme D,there was 1 case in each, both ineffective, and the effective rate was 0.There were significant differences in the therapeutic effects of different treatment schemes(P<0.05).Conclusion Ac-cording to the morphological characteristics of recurrent ear keloids, the use of surgery, electron beam irradiation, silicone ointment and isotope in a one-stage multimodal treatment can effectively improve the therapeutic effect and reduce the recurrence rate.
