Clinical application of comprehensive hairline transplantation in improving the facial contour of the central and upper facial area in women
Objective To explore the effectiveness of comprehensive hairline transplantation in enhancing the youthful appear-ance of the central and upper facial area in women. Methods This study included 65 female participants with congenitally high and wide foreheads who underwent comprehensive hairline transplantation.Unlike traditional hairline transplantation, which focused solely on low-ering the front hairline, this comprehensive approach included lowering the front hairline, hair transplantation in the temporal angle region, advancing the lateral hairline, partially densifying the sideburn area, and connecting the transition zones. The study observed the partici-pants'general conditions, reduction in the central facial area, surgical information, naturalness of hair, patient satisfaction, and adverse re-actions.Results The average coverage area of the central facial hairline transplant was(62.6±8.6)cm2.The average number of follicular units transplanted was(3759±514),with a density of 30 to 60 units/cm2.The average duration of surgery was(7±2)h.Patients rated the naturalness of their hair at 4.80 and their satisfaction at 4.91 on the Likert scale. No serious side effects were observed during the study. Conclusion Comprehensive hairline transplantation is effective and safe for enhancing the outline of the central and upper facial area in women, which could improve temporal depression and the visual width of the middle face.It achieves a natural density and appearance, with high patient satisfaction. This technique is worthy of clinical promotion for improving facial contour proportions.
