Population ageing and the quality of labour force employment——An empirical analysis based on provincial panel data from 2006 to 2021
Promoting the strategy of giving priority to employment and guaranteeing high-quality and full employment is a key measure for achieving high-quality socio-economic development and enhancing people's well-being.At the same time, the deepening of aging has brought about extensive and far-reaching changes in economic development, industrial structure and adjustment of factor inputs. To this end, based on the provincial panel data from 2006 to 2021,we first measure the quality of labour force employment in each province using the entropy weight method, and explore the impact of population aging on high-quality employment using the fixed and moderating effect models. It is found that population aging inhibits the improvement of employment quality of China's labour force,in addition, the external environment brought by the development of artificial intelligence and the improvement of the level of technological innovation can ameliorate the negative impact of population aging on employment quality.
