Design and Application of Underwater Sky Polarization Light Video Collection Experimental Device
The acquisition of underwater sky polarization information is an important foundation for underwater vehicles to achieve polarized light navigation.An experimental device for collecting sky polarization distribution with an underwater polarization camera is built to collect the underwater polarization distribution of sky light refracted by water surface.The experimental device is divided into two parts:a waterproof shell and a polarized light sensor.The design of the waterproof shell mainly considers material,quality,and airtightness.The core of the polarized light sensor is to control the polarization camera to capture polarization images of 0°,45°,90°,135°,and four vector images of Stokes through programming.Combined with computers,we use relevant algorithms to calculate polarization angle,degree of polarization,and polarization azimuth images.The results show that the polarization degree and polarization angle are symmetrically distributed on the solar meridian,with the polarization degree being the smallest near the sun and increasing outward in a circular region.The data collected by this device can effectively extract the orientation information of the sun.
